Black Tie Club
silkscreen prints on paper 22" x 30" each May 2007 The Black Tie Club is a series of five screen printed posters. The goal for the series was to accentuate the aesthetic importance of posters. Posters, images accompanied by text, are commonly used for communicating simple information to an audience such as an advertisement for a product. My goal was to prove that a poster's existence does not have to be this; a poster can be a graphically stimulating medley of text and image and still deliver no information to the audience through the design. This was my senior grant individual project from Perpich Center for Arts Education. I was awarded a grant from my school based on a proposal to fund this project. Below are larger images and each pieces' individual description. |
